Whuuu.....What happened?!

I sort of "came to" at about 5pm this evening, and realised I'd had some kind of shopping "attack", where my personality had been pushed into neutral, and "Captain Retail!" was let loose on the world.

Sitting in my email intray were receipts for a 7ltr stage, halcyon spool, assorted metal shiny things and someone giving me a price on an explorer wing. I'd achieved no work, and had about 25 internet explorer windows open on varioud divin-related shops. there was a copy of diver on my desk, and a yellow post it on the laptops screen saying "get twinset filled with 32, and pick up new cert card from wraysbury". Added to that I have a blurred recollection of writing out a cheque to Mark Powell and telling someone to put in the outgoing post.

I remember just suddenly stopping and thinking "whoa, wasn't it 8 am a minute ago". I obviously had some form of attack here. So, my question is, is this a common diving-related injury, and can I buy something from the diveshow to stop it

Probably the most common ailment suffered by divers the world over mate!

And no, there is currently no known cure - other than a highly experimental new treatment called 'The Driftwood Approach', which can cause the diver nights of endless torment before you go and flog-off all your kit and jack diving for good.

The treatment's in its infancy and rightly feared by most jobbing divers as being in extremis.

So you might as well join the ranks and suffer in silence mate

"The Driftwood Approach" might yet prove to be the worse idea of the lot. Sell it all then buy new stuff all over again!

Yes! One or two of our 'T' shirts ... people will be so busy stopping you and asking where you get it from and how cool you look, you won't have time to go shopping anymore!

Just a thought... and a fairly random one at that...

if you turn into Captain Retail (which should probably be pronounced in a captain caveman style CAAAAAPTTAAAAIN REEEEEEEEETAAAIL )..do you have your own theme tune (as all good superheroes do)...but I can't help thinking that Captain Retail (with the power to battle evildoers whilst keeping an eye open for a good bargain) would have some sort of piped easy listening muzak?

told you it was a fairly random thought...

Captaaiin Reeetaaail

I think that Caaptaain Reetaaail has quite a good ring to it, or should it be something like Caaptaain Divvesshooop has a better ring to it. And also quite true.

I let Dave take my regs to our lds today to get them serviced. Well, bless his cotton socks, or blow me (depends on your mood) but he came back and is changing my regs from A clamp to DIN. Not sure when or who is paying, but I have (good) feelings about this one!. ie I know who has longer lunch hours and thus who can go and collect them (and pay!!).

Josie

Well, IF you don't stop it and IF it happens again and IF you end up with several YBODS to many - I'll take one off your hands, at a suitably discounte price, of course.

Finless,

I'd have just given you a green but I need to "spread myself" more liberally, apparently. But God loves a trier!

The only way to stop it is to stay under water. But it only works for a few hours at a time.
