The Life Aquatic

Not sure whether to dread this film or start queuing.

Think I might start queuing having missed the "Dangers of Crazy Eye" lecture on my open water course.
Do you think Cousteau would be flattered?

Dread

Summary from IMDB.COM:

With a plan to exact revenge on a mythical shark that killed his partner, oceanographer Steve Zissou rallies a crew that includes his estranged wife, a journalist, and a man who may or may not be his son.

Revenge on a mythical shark?

Anybody who wants 'revenge' on a rather dim eating machine is clearly a few sandwiches short of a picnic already so it's clearly going to one of those movies.

Thumbs down FILM REVIEW: Steve Zissou and his Life Aquatic

...what a complete load of old pigeon droppings that film is!

..although a twin hose reg was spotted in several scenes this film should come with a health warning attached...plain feeble.

At least the Cousteau films featured Frenchmen....................

Vive le red wooly hat

Ah, should have done a search

Well I have to agree to disagree with Nikos, diff'rent strokes I suppose, (oh bums, the "S" word)

It's not deeply thought provoking, but a good laugh.

Angry I want to see this!

trying to convince Juz it's worth a night out to the cinema!

Isn't it just a p1ss take? not supposed to be high brow or really anything to do with 'real' diving but a nights mindless entertainment?

Film review

Quote:
The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou confirms not only that Anderson is a wildly talented chap in a sea of film-making mediocrity but also that he can be infuriatingly indulgent, single-minded and fussy.

In short, if you liked his previous films, then The Life Aquatic will seem like manna from Heaven, but if you think that all films should be like the sort of stuff that, say, Vin Diesel turns out, then you'll more likely be baffled and irritated.
Hmmmmm, don't think that helps my cause any!
