    Pa-aling divers....mentalists

Breathing from a 15mm bit if plastic pipe attached to an old rusty compressor along with a load of others, inside a huge fishing net...... Mentalists, not even a snorkel in sight. I 'm sure you are all watching human planet but if not get on the bbc iplayer for the full piece on these guys, bet they don't worry how many launches you can get from one crack bottle DSMB...

Or calling the DDRC, just a spinal massage underwater if you get a crippling pain on surfacing!

Nutters? or making the most of what 'equipment' they can get their hands on to catch fish. Some hoglooping going on too. . . .
    Very interesting program!

Edit: too slow on the hoglooping

Saw them televised on the 'Dive detectives' a while ago. They were searching for a WW2 sub IIRC and the filipino lead diver lost the more 'traditionally' attired scuba divers.

They were amazing but even more so was the guy just walking on the bottom spear fishing. Negatively buoyant, no weights and no fins to get up or down.

Never seen anything remotely like him.

Even more scary was the revelation that they are being driven deeper since the fish stocks on the reefs they've been fishing are decimated..... shortly before seeing the scene of them herding the fish into the net with the commentary that they could easily catch 50% of the reef fish.

Its an uneviable job though, especially for $25 week!

It was the 4hrs at 36m that got me.

If nothing else it puts into perspective all our complaints we have about the UK. We seem to forget how fooking cheap life is in the rest of the world when we're complaining about late trains.
