To be honest I've been taking the easy option in this debate, IE, I'm voting for age reduction but with someone else working out how that's going to be done.

Now if that means we do end up with non-diving parent members then yes I'd say they shouldn't have full voting rights on the basis they're not 'diving members'. In fact shouldn't we have 'social members' with restricted rights anyway?

While I was of course joking earlier there is possibly a greater case for youngsters having some voting rights in excess of their non-diving parents but clearly that's debatable too and I haven't given that detail much thought. In fact what voting rights do 16 year old members have anyway?

Like I said I've been taking the easy option but I've done so on the basis someone better qualified and experienced in these matters than me will be leading debates and discussions to work out the details.

I just make the big decisions............ bit like at home really I decide who we should vote for in general elections and the wife makes all the trivial day to day stuff concerning our money. Oh wait..........

I think its a bit unfair to say that Diver is a rip-off because you have already read the articles online-would witholding the content from going freely online really make the magazine better value? I like YD but think Divernet is an excellent online resource, but like most people prefer to still buy the paper version to read.

Hi

I think what they are talking about is republishing older articles that have been published before. Divernet is usually a couple of 'issues' behind the Diver magazine.

Talking Don't forget dive

Steve W is reviewing the Porthkerris divers catamaran in Dive, YD is hogging diving journalism this month

It's not fair I dived from that [if it's the same one] 3 years ago and was never asked by any dive mags' for my opinion

You don't need an apprentice do you Steve

Safe diving,
Steve

They did contact us, and we (well I certainly did) write a small piece with my comments on the subject. However there's a reference to a Simon P (which I'm assuming is me) who apparently didn't realise they had a buddy and still didn't realise until they were at the surface - I must have been narked when I wrote that as I don't remember putting that into my "interview" - journalistic licence anyone...?!
