| I have logged all of my dives. To be honest dive detail is often a little light, not much more than depth, time, deco stops. Abroad I also tend to log exposure protection, weighting, tank size/ material and temperature. I find it helps when I dive somewhere new to be able to reference when I last dived in a similar temp, what I wore and whether I was cold or overweighted. Most importantly though my logbook is full of phone numbers for dive centres, boats, instructors, directions to places and hand drawn maps of a fair few wrecks so that I can remind myself of important things if I revisit a place or want to help anyone visiting with useful information. |

| tend to log most of mine, especially as i like to think about the things that didnt go as well as expected. writing it down helps me to think it through. It helps if you want to enrol on courses and with Dive centres abroad, but for me it's how you use the info that is important. |

I'm rather anal about logging my dives, I'm still relatively new to the sport and progressing through training where I need to show details of dives logged anyway so perhaps this will change in the fullness of time. But aside from this I'm not good at remembering place names and/or details so I find it helps me to recall this and the people I've had the pleasure of diving with, it's become a mini diary and I often look back over it. My log book includes contact details for the schools/clubs and people, I may have this information elsewhere but it's a comfort knowing I have this backup. I can't see me wanting not to record this information but if I were logging hundreds of dives each year many of which were covering the same skills for students on training over and over then maybe, like Michael, I'd feel differently. Having said that I do recall early on looking at one of my instructors log books, he's numbered them on the front and was on book number one hundred and yhirty something, rather intimidating when I was logging my first 4 dives |

| Log all my dives, although the amount of information varies significantly. As a bare minimum I record depth, time and equipment used. |

I did not log for about 5 years, but do now as i am always having to back track to sign off people. I started again to get the right number for Advanced Diver, i kind of followed that on for the next 100 so i could do First class Diver but instructing has kind of made me keep a record because so many in the club take forever to produce their log books for sign off. It has also been useful when doing dive briefs to be able to look up the wreck from past dives.
