Norways Hidden Secrets - TV program

Saw this program yesterday on National Geographic channel. Well well worth watching it. It's about the marine life in Norway fjords with much diving involved. It's well made and it's not made for the US market either, they talk normal & informative. It has shots of the Ghost shark, King Crabs, Orcas, Seals and the cold corals.

It's even made me thinking of Norway as a good dive destination...

It's being shown again on the 6th October at 15h00. Worth taping.

from: http://www.parthenonentertainment.co...ayssecrets.htm

Norway’s Hidden Secrets

In the land of the Vikings, we discover a hidden natural world. This is one man's quest to explore a new world beneath Norway's crystal clear fjords. Florian Graner is an expert guide, a wildlife cinematographer with a PhD in the region's Harbour Porpoises. What Florian finds in the cold abyss of the fjord depths, is a place like no other - a coral reef thriving in a world without sunlight.
We dive into schools of cod, and meet blue water sharks, salmon, killer whales, horsehead seals, and hundreds of others, attracted to the reefs by the life giving currents of the Gulf Stream. The reefs offer an enormous shelter for sprats and plankton, the largest being the Sula Ridge whose coral banks are up to 13 kilometres long and 15 to 35 metres high.
Travelling above the deep reefs, we venture into the kelp forest, and then above sea, we take a breathtaking aerial journey through the woods, rivers, snowfields and glaciers that line the fjords, meeting red deer, otters and Capercaillie. This landscape has affected the human population from the Stone Age to the Vikings and to today's fishermen who are unaware of the true beauty of Norway's Hidden Secret below them

Florian Graner website: http://www.sealife-productions.com/ Well worth seeing the pics.

Norway

Went in the Summer and had a fantastic (but expensive) time. Bob Jones and Gordan Wandsworth both take boats out for the Summer.

This is a good website -

Thumbs up

Watched it last night - top programme, both above and below the surface coverage (seals, sharks, lobbies, soft corals and other sealife).
