Iraqi Diving Appeal
Just to get everyone looking at a new thread rather than the sticky at the top!!

Now that everyone has got new shiny kit from the Dive Show, there must be some stuff that you need to get rid of and I have just the place for you

Follow the sticky at the top of General Information for the Iraqi Police Diving Team and you can help some guys who are in desperate need of some kit.

There was a lot of interest from the first thread and I PM'd everyone (24 names) who said they would help but to date I have only had 7 people stump up either cash donations or equipment donations. Come on, live up to your promises. There is now a spreadsheet available online to show who has donated what and it will be updated on a daily basis.

I am going to post on Diver.net, SWM and UKDivers and see what sort of results I get from them, the more the merrier.

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

Gareth - I was waiting for the list of what was actually needed, do we now know what the guys actually want? If so I missed that bit, sorry for being thick but can you point me at it?

I have a set of regs, a pony, a mask, a hood... Maybe some gloves and a wetsuit if I knew what sizes these guys are. I don't want send stuff that is not useful and I don't want to send cash if it's going to be used buy kit that I already have to donate...

The list of kit is in the sticky and is highlighted in red on page 1. The first post was updated to let everyone know what was going on after I got a reply from our contact in theatre.

No problems, I understand your concerns. The excel sheet will let everyone know what is needed and what we already have enough of. This sheet is linked on the first page too.

Time is my biggest problem, if I'm not working I'm underwater ;-) I'm sure when a get a couple of days free I can dig some kit out of storage too and pass it on.

I have a lot of respect for what their doing, I missed the first lot of buggering around in Iraq by the skin of my teeth in 1992, I got posted to South Armagh instead.

I don't have as much spare kit as I thought I'd have. I've spent my dive budget for the next two months on pimping my new ride. Look for the guy in the Impreza watching porn DVDs during the surface interval at NDAC.
