I am flying with EasyJet tomorrow and have just noticed from their email confirmation that 10Kg of sporting goods now go free, subject to space/weight availability.

One of the Easyjet check-in staff queried my dive bag last year when I flew to Northern Ireland. It was over my allowance and she reckoned I'd have to pay extra:

"How much am I allowed?"
"20kg"
"How much extra are you going to charge the fat man behind me in the queue?"
"It'll be ok this time sir, enjoy your flight"

Works every time!

Quick blast down to the South of France could work out less than a trip to the Farnes and probably easier to sell to the other half than Newcastle-on-Sea.

<font color='#0000FF'>Flew back from Hungary yesteray on Air France (our Air Fat Chance) and their charged me €50 for being 3Kg overweight! I was really pissed off, on the way there I was delayed in Paris for 4 hours and when I asked for a voicher for food or drink they refused saying that as the delay was due to a strike and not a technical reason they had no obligation to give food vouchers.

41 weeks into the year - 13 dives so far - 40 is my target for 2008 - not doing at all well for this target! A slow easygoing year...
