However if you are in Farnes, then our chance of having fine pleasant weather, calm conditions, cracking vis and basking sharks a plenty are looking promising Seriously though, would have been nice to meet up, but who knows we appear to have trips a plenty planned this year. Porthkerris May, also possibly end of September/beginning of October. Farnes, June/July time. Maybe a trip to Anglesey and might round the year off with a trip to NZ and Fiji. Just remember Matt, Murphy's law of diving, your desire to see something is inversly proportional to your chances of actually seeing it. Daz

| Imported post <font color='#736AFF'>For me this subject is an "it all depends on the buddy and the situation" e.g. One buddy I have I can instinctively predict where to find him, usually about 2m somwehere around me at roughly the same level. Plus we work together as a team. If something interesting is found it will be pointed out the buddy. With less experienced divers(and I am only 120 dives), around the UK, I like them to be about half a metre in front, so I can see what they see, plus if there are any problems I can spot them pretty quickly. Having a good dive plan I find is good idea. And informing those up top what the plan is. Make sure both buddies know what the plan actually is. Two other factors are the viz, and do they have their own AAS. Having dived around the Med I seem to encounter fewer issues out there, better viz plus less risk of free flows for a start, and less kit to go wrong. |

| Imported post as a trainee i found this subject quite amusing,as I've found that almost every instructoe in our club that I've dived with has their own preference, most like you to one side and level, but then the more comfortable they become with you, then it can lead to a game of either catch up,separation,or due to my experience bumping into each other!!, two very experienced guys that i dive with prefer me to be out in front, and I know that if i get a tug on the fin, that's me being reined in!!. initially I wasn't too keen on this as I was concerned that if anything went wrong with them i wasn't in a position to know about it, and as a consequence I found that I was doing somersaults trying to see if they were under or above me, as i now know one likes hovering above, and the other is just behind and below, but I know that both are unobtrusive but that they are sticking to me like glue, these guys have over a thousand dives each in this country, and have been at it (diving!!) for approx 18 years apiece so I admit I'm happy with the situation now |

| Imported post <font color='#0000FF'>I was diving with a novice buddy once, and he had said on the boat " whats it like diving on your own ? ",, so i said , " do you want to try it SAFELY ",,,,,,,,,,I then got the lecture from the dive god D/O . " No solo diving is safe ,,,,, ",,,, yeah yeah yeah , fuc* wit, went though my head ,,,,,, On the surface i said to this new novice." If i pass you my reel, clip it on to you and go and swim off on your own , the other end will be clipped to me , so when you lose sight, you will be able to find me ",,, " Ok, " he said. That was one of the best divs he had ever done, and the write up in his log book, bought a lump to me throat,,,,,,,,,,,, Nowadays , he only dives solo. Andy. Oh , and also he became a commercial diver in the end , and after leaving dive school , within 3 months he is working for TEXACO, off the African coast
