| Water or apple juice for hydration in general. Bananas for energy. How is your general fitness? Not that I am one to talk about this particular subject

| we tend to eat tuna sandwiches and bananas in the surface interval, also i try to avoid cooked breakfast as i end up belching all through the dives and all i can taste is beans, bottled water for hydration before and after the dive and a steaming hot drink if its cold regards paul |

| a nice hot cuppa soup with pasta and croutons, possibly with bread roll. IMHO i would advise to put the diet on the back seat on your diving days as thats when u need the energy and warmth and then be extra good during the week.

| totally agree with Jo - lots of your natural hydration is food related so soup and roll is great, as is fruit incidentally, and my apologies for the thread drift, are you diving on air or nitrox? Nitrox may help you to feel more energised as you have less nitrogen in your system |

| Energy levels I like to take banana and apple, nutri grain bars, sports drinks. A large full breakfast can keep me going most of the day. Nitrox works wonders for diving-OK mild exageration, but after a weekends diving I safely managed a 4.5 hour drive home yesterday. |

| Yep banana's are good for me; and those bags of mixed dried fruit things with dried pineapple, banana, coconut etc, and also mixed (unsalted) fruit and nuts offer a good energy boost without over filling yourself. However, have a good drink of water to sloosh your mouth out before spitting in your mask
