| Awesome - humbling - and emotional programme. The matter of fact tone on the radio recordings - from people in such extreme circumstances - says volumes about their professionalism as well as bravery. May they - and others like them - never be forgotten nor taken for granted. I can't say I recall it like it was yesterday - but Penlee, and Union Star, have been names engraved in my memory for 25 years. |

| I watched it too and had tears in my eyes, truely very brave men who will never be forgotten. Its about time the RNLI was recognised as an essential emergency service and be government funded.

I think they are better off as they are, and that, as divers, we should all do all we can to help raise funds for them. How about we all start fund-raising for the inshore boat "RNLB Yorkshire-Divers"? Andrew |

| Andrew I think thats a cool idea. How much would it cost etc? Jamie |

| A "B" Class Atlantic 75 and 85 Boats inshore boat is about £125,000 each... The D Class inshore boats are about £29,000 each Or we could go for a new Tamar at £2.5million..... Andrew |

i saw the program and i think that anyone who shows that bravery and conviction in what is a volunteer job gets my respect and any help i can give i do give money at the moment through my pay but £5 a month just doesn't seem enough after seeing that. there should also be a mention for the chopper crew who also have a large part to play in the rescues today and who we as divers would see more of. there is the RAF flight out of chivernor here and they seem to always be out. truly remarkable men and women

| Out of interest, did anybody video this program? I watched it, but just before it started, t'missus went upstairs for a bath, and then went to bed... I thought this was because she didn't want to watch the program... WRONG! I should have guessed that she wanted to watch it, but that she wanted me to video it for her! Canine residence for me!
