Next time you're diving....

...pick up some free food. Extract courtesy of Hugh F-W's latest news letter:

"When we weren’t fishing, we spent a lot of time rustling up our favourite recipes, trying out new ones, and photographing the results. I didn’t necessarily expect to be sampling a whole new species, however, so I was delighted, and excited, when the local marine biologist – a Spaniard named Juan, who is also a dab hand in the kitchen - suggested we try deep-fried sea anemones. Tossed briefly in seasoned flour and frazzled in hot oil for barely a minute, they were a revelation. Crisp on the outside, tender and almost creamy within, they had an intense, seaweedy flavour that I found rather thrilling. If you’re interested in giving them a go, the species you need to identify is the green snakelock anemone: a greeny-blue creature with distinctive purplish tips to its tentacles."
