How do you go descend ?

I've only ever been told to descend from the surface feet first although having been the recipent of a few 'fin-to-face' kickings in the past wondered how many of us descend differently. i.e. horizontally, head down...?

Just curious

Regards

Graham

head up for the first couple of feet while dumping gas, then horizontally, or with head very slightly down

i normally go feet down for the first 2m or so and then try and level out and descend like an angel, lightly stopping myself a meter or so above the bottom.

in reality i like to smash into the bottom with more force than a N.Korean nuke, laugh till i cry and then figure out what i've left on the boat.

Horizontal freefall, arms and legs splayed, like a parachutist.

Parachute position

I plan to look like a parachutist on the descent. Basically level
Knees bent, arms holding shot line or generally flailing around searching for lost torch, unravelling dsmb, fifteen gauge checks, and seeing if my buddy has found the wreck for me.

Head up for a few metres cos it makes equalising much easier (for me). Then horizontal or head down pulling hard on the shot to get down as fast as possible before getting to the bottom and wondering where my buddy got to

Think Mission Impossible

I often duck dive to get going as the yellow box makes me a bit bouyant, then horizontal / gut first.

Diving, diving? - quick roll so head down then torpedo down with a quick bubble check at 6m (i.e glance at buddy to make sure they are still alive and near me and no warning signals from them). at the bottom, horizontal X shape (psychological action) and inflate like a bugger to avoid crashing into the wreck.

chilling - feet first for 1-4 m then horizontal.

never been kicked in the head going down before as far as I can remember, i usually ignore it when I get kicked. you get used to it on some of the crowded sites.

meh any method is a good one as long as you get down safely....and your buddy
