What should I buy?

Hello All,

The Taxman has very kindly decided to give me a rebate of nearly £4000 and with this I may treat myself to some quality diving items!

My question to you is a simple one... What should I get?

I already have twins and a wing etc so those are out. Got a nice holiday booked too. I am nowhere near a rebreather yet so that is out too.

Come on peeps, help me spend!!!!

James

We are missing one important detail..
What sort of diving do you want to do?

Did you move to a twinset for duration or depth? Also how much diving do you do? How much do you aim to do? If the things you want to see are deep then maybe you should reconsider the rebreather, if you want to take pictures perhaps a big upgrade here is called for, alternatively maybe you should blow it all on exotic destinations.

It depends what you need! No point frittering it. I'd get a nice camera, but that's because I want a camera.

Have you got a good dry suit?

Otherwise, I'd put it in an account to earn interest and then go on a couple of fab holidays. Should do about 10 trips to the Red Sea or a couple of trips to Australia or the Cook Islands. Or the Galapagos.

God, fancy having so much you don't know what to spend it on. Sheesh.

I bought the twinset for time and safety really. I'm not into depth for the sake of it. If there is something to look at then I don't mind.

It wasn't meant to be a really serious thread. Just some ideas of toys that I can buy! Camera was an idea as was a Suunto D9.

Cheers for the questions.

James

Hi Vonny,

I have all the basic stuff. I have an Otter MTM suit, OMS wing, Twinset etc. Maybe a shiny torch would be the way to go!

Found myself in a similar situation unexpectedly the other day.

1st purchase was a pair of 'lightsaber' Salvos from NikNakkers. One is for Nicola though so that she can share in my good fortune (*read - easier to get away with spending @ £1500 on a pair of torches !!*)

It does feel good to wally a lump of money from time to time - LOL !!

Well that amount is about the cost of a yellow box isn't it ?

And with that amount, you might JUST ABOUT to be able to afford the very best Halcyon torch
