Even over here we have this "news item". (Albeit only on BBC World).

What I found difficult to understand is that this (as best I understand it) is a reference to a program called "Celebrity Big Brother". Now that is not something I would watch but I do understand the format.

Correct me here please if I am wrong, but a rather pretty Asian woman was on there and is (allegedly) a "Bollywood" actress. I must accept this, as I know no different and tend not to watch crap films in Hindi... The other person is a woman (who appears to have lost about 90Kg) who was on the (non-celebrity) version. Ms Goody (who IIRC was a bit of a thick twat and in the papers for being the only person to shag anyone on screen or something similarly vulgar...) is therefore a "celebrity" as a result of being a previous "contestant".

I find this sad and depressing.

I did once (when young and foolish) shag someone in a phone box. I must assume I am therefore a "celebrity"... hmmmmm.........

The whole sorry situation has been piped in on the news (?) for a couple of weeks (cant be anything else happening in the world ) and, well, it was on the beeb, so it must be true must'nt it? (clarkson that is!)

l doubt these comments will be raised by any politicians or that Jeremy Clarkson will get any death threats, but they're more insulting than anything Jade Goody said.

When this all went down i was in France watching sky news and it was the top news item most nights

Concurrently 3 Royal Marines and a Royal Engineer took part in a rather risky helicopter rescue under fire in Afghanistan that could well have earned all 4 the Victoria Cross, but that was a rather poorly covered second item on the news
