| There are web based log books. I use DiveRecord.com Its quite good, although I don't think you can upload profiles to it. It does do loads of stats though, mostly pointless, but fun

| Hi Graham, It seems to me that you really have 2 separate requirements here; 1 - A secure place to store a backup of your computers log, and ideally display it in a useful manner. 2 - Somewhere where you can maintain a record of dives and signatories. I think it is unlikely that anyone will provide a full service of everything you need as this would require a license for all of the software for the different dive computers out there, to be able to view the profiles in an interactive manner etc. So you either have to use the pooters proprietery software for your logs (no sigs) or a combination of two solutions, backup your logs and scan any sigs / profiles etc onto a fairly standard solution. I don't know if anyone already provides this solution (ability to upload images of sigs as well as profile graphs etc), but it shouldn't be difficult. I'm sure someone in the YD massive will let us know. ATB Andy

| Look at JDiveLog. It is an open source project (on SourceForge) so if you want to change (or get your student programmer to) it you can. Not sure that it does everything that you want but it's a pretty good start. Obvioulsy I'm very sad being as I download on Suunto's software and have been playing with JDiveLog. ![]()

| I personally have just started to use Earthdive at Scuba Diving for Marine Conservation. It is free and you can log your dives and also some scientific information which is supposed to help the oceans in some roundabout way. I believe they used to charge to register with them, but it seems like it's free for divers now, and is well worth a look |
