Mobiles phones - Pushing for deals

My current phone contract expired last month. I rang my current provider (Three) yesterday to see what they would give me to keep me. I thought I already had a good deal with 500 any time any network minutes a month for £30.

To cut a long story short I came away with 2 new Nokia Phones (6280)
with 750 any time minutes
150 txts
50 video call minutes
50 multimedia messages and
£5 of free downloads a month which can be used for games or anything else.

This normally cost £35 a month but I managed to get 18 months half price line rental on an 18 month contract. So £17.50 a month for all the above.

Not too shabby me thinks. Worth a look if you are looking for a new deal.

How is Three these days? I seem to remember that when they first started Three were a bit naff as regards signal / network coverage? I've kinda ruled them out since then... Should I reconsider them?

Well, they claim 99% UK coverage and the network roams to o2 if it goes out of range. This is my third contract with them & I'm happy. The only complaint I have is high overseas charges. But thats not a biggie for me.

Glad to hear you are happy with three. The network is quite settled now and the handests available are a lot better now than they ever were. Theres a couple of nice Sony Ericsson phones available on Three now.
Alan just to update you on a couple of points.

98% Population not geographical coverage
UK Roaming is now with Orange, O2 will be phased out by the end of 2007
Three have brought out a new pricing policy for overseas roaming charges, in some countries it will be nearly the same price as at home. (granted these are other 3 markets such as Italy, Sweden, Australia and Hong kong)
I think this is called 3 like home and for calling abroad they have an international add on... it's worth having a look at three.co.uk for all the details on that. I work in Engineering not sales!!!
