If its that swim ear stuff you are after its only iso proply alcohol. pop into boots and ask for a bottle. Strangely enough its the same stuff used to clean tape heads.

thanks guys for all your advice
turns out i had great big lump of ear wax stuck down there so got searching the net and found out how to syringe my ear got it sorted a couple of day before second stage of my open water (which i passed this weekend) every thing clear as a bell now.
