| What's wrong with a simple bidet? For that matter why don't you see them in the UK? Also very useful to wash your feet, wash dive computer, mask , knives... (remember to take them out before use though!) Who will put up the poll then - do you wipe sitting down or standing up? And as we are on the subject - is there a cultural difference where men pee sitting down or standing? Do they fear the wraths from their wives for the floor splashings? Worse is in public toilets where men piss all over the toilet seats - ust he Bl**dy urinal then! I far prefer to go to the firld than use a service station bog!

| From a technical point of view, is using one of these hoses mid-crouch more difficult than launching a DSMB mid-water? |

| Just because you do the nice thing with the botty wash does not necessarily mean that the chef washes their hands after they have been to the little boys' room. If you're off to Egypt, expect to get the squits. If you don't then it's a bonus.

| Yes, I think I said on the other lavvy thread, I haven't been "baaad" for the last few trips and perhaps I have built up some immunity. But also I think hygiene in kitchens/ galleys over there varies quite a lot.

| Keep your right hand for eating and your left hand for ablutions! I never got the trots in 20 years of regular visits to Egypt (mostly on boats) until I went to a local's restaurant in Hurghada last month, the night before I flew home. I can now tell you about every lavatory in Cairo Airport.
