No, you just hope that you haven't got a dodgy knee and then wished you worked your legs out more at the gym.....

Nice theory, but I have to break it...

Me being me, i'm very picky with food. It tends to result in me living off Haribo, dairylea triangles and toast for the week on the liveaboard. I've done that for the past 4 or 5 years now. And I have *never* been ill in Egypt, despite using the same toilets as everyone else who (almost all) have been ill.

Obviously not conclusive, but definitely more likely to be the food...

David

sensible

We are complex systems, therefore it is likely to be a multitude of factors.
  • Change of diet
  • Problem bacteria
  • Toilet hygiene
  • poor food preparation and storage
  • non-potable water
  • discharge from boats

now the precaution that are sensible include
  • good hand hygiene
  • drink only bottled water
  • avoid ice and washed food
  • avoid known problem food
  • good toilet hygiene
  • caution with swimming near boat
  • don't get pissed and have curries

Ask your GP to consider antibiotics in advance. Remain appropriately hydrated. Use imodium with caution. Take arse cream. (germaloids local anaethetic). Alcohol hand gel is a possibility.

Don't hold any mental pictures of JB washing his esteemed arse with a hose.

Good luck

Neill.
