I have used nail varnish remover and a cotton wool pad or piece of kitchen roll to remove permenant marker from the side of cylinders, it may work on the reel and dsmb.

If it's permanent marker and the SMB is made of any type of woven material (as the Buddy ones are), you'll never get it all off. Best thing you can do is try to cover it up.

Use some of the SMB stickers that Simon has already mentioned. They're very good.

There's a detailed explanation on Mark's site about how to stick them on properly: Instructions

He has suggested that they will stick on without additional glue if the SMB is cleaned properly and the sticker is left to 'bed in' for 48 hours. I'm not so sure about this as mine is starting to come unstuck at the edges.

If it comes of completely, I'll do it the long-winded way.

Methylated spirits is my first-attempt solvent of choice. It works on permanent board markers and similar.

I'd only go to acetone, then petrol once that's failed, as they often disfigure plastics.

I cleaned mine with toluene then stuck them on pressing them down with the rounded handle of a screwdriver. Then got a big pile of books and 2 weightbelts and left them compressed for 48 hours.

Stuck on like sh1t to a blanket.
