| Firstly, definately go for an umbillical, it's just so much nicer, you also have the back up of knowing that if you drop it then it's still connected to you. Personally I have a JMD 50W Xenophot (?) umbillical. Everyone I have seen with one of these has been extremely happy with it, everyone whos seen it is impressed with it. It feels very very well built, in fact I'm sure you could knock nails in with it. It's also very bright and will last you two dives no worries. Charging is nice and easy, unscrew little cap on battery, plug in, charge, unplug, screw little screw back in, sorted On another note ( Friends laugh at the number of torches I've bought in the past (bought rubbish or stuff that just ain't bright enough) and the difference a good torch makes is brilliant. Dark site? no worries. dark hole? no worries. Also to save you looking at ugly buddy, point torch on ground in front of them, give them a nice ok, they point torch on ground in front of you, ok back. No more offended eyes Good luck with your search, Lloyd.

| thank you for your reply loneshark.the early connection problems were due to the lampholders which has been sorted a number of years agoand also the umbilicals which were in a minority were due to the connection rings which were also sorted a number of years ago.its like any torch if you are selling in large volumes like greenforce salvos.etc you are bound to get some with slight problems.some of the salvos have had problems with the umbilicals or connections and i know that fami have.we have been agents for greenforce for 11 years now and there are still people diving with there original torch and have had no problems, but as you know it depends on how you treat your kit. rob
