Core Responsibilities

The candidate will work within the programme office, initially fully supporting the User Developed Tools (UDT) written by the business in VB. However, in time as more fuller strategic solutions are solidified move into a Business Analyst role ensuring the PMO are able to identify and deliver the solutions required to continue the growth of the business.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Visual Basic Expertise - Maintenance of the departments User developed Tools (UDT). Ongoing development and maintenance of the UDTs and development/creation on an ad-hoc basis, where business needs are identified to eliminate risk and exposure.

• Develop Functional Solutions Creation of robust and scalable solutions to fully amortise the bespoke and individual needs of our clients during their transition into the GDS product.

• Business Requirement Documentation Production of business requirement documentation involving liaison with JP Morgan internal business units, external vendors and clients. Delivering, though business knowledge and a questioning mind, full requirements to technology groups and interested parties.

• Project Management Knowledge of gathering requirements, project lifecycle, KPIs, KRIs, testing and delivering projects.

Core Competencies

• Experienced VBA knowledge with practical application of this in a business environment
• Proven project and business analytical skills
• Knowledge of OTC/ETD Derivatives advantageous
• Knowledge of the fund accounting and NAV production processes advantageous
• Self motivated, innovative and analytical
• Good prioritisation and time management
• Ability to work well both as an individual and as part of a team
• Comfortable at interacting with and communicating to all levels of management and client
• A proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues and having the determination to follow things through
• Excellent communication, interaction and influencing skills
• Strong documentation to support the project lifecycle and during technical development

Thanks for any help you can give,

Chris Middleton

Good Luck

Sorry, I cant give you any help on passing the interview..

But i will wish you good luck, and say keep you chin up.

I graduated in July of last year and only got a perment that is only slightly related to my degree at the end of june this year!. It will take a while.

the best thing i can say is find an agency that supplies temp workers to the compies that you want to work for, and take what ever position that they can give you this will give you the office experiance (that seem to be what most places are looking) and if it is a compay that you really do like you may find a perment post with them through there internal recuritment! (that is how i have the job that i am in now and although only slightly related to what i did at uni I think i am enjoying it more that what i would have gotten if is stayed with what i did my degree in)

All the Best and dont worry. It will all work out in the end.. but just think of all the time you have for diving!

TTFN

Right, well if you don't get the job (or even if you do) I would suggest asking them to use English instead of the jumbled mess of management speak and acronyms that lot is full of. I don't know why they bother with a job description if they're goign to write that, they might as well just write "we use lots of long words to describe what we do, probably because we do feck all most days, like the sound of that?" and be done with it.

Being as you probably don't know massive amounts about it, I would keep stressing how fast you learn, and that you're very keen to be the best in everything you do and all that jazz.

If you want a job running warehouses and transport operations I could happily reccomend you to the company I'm working for at the moment. They might just be short of a manager sometime soon. Especially if things carry on the way they are.

Digs.

If you don't know what it means, you probably can't do the job. One of the ways to sort the wheat from the chaff. They explained most of their internal acronyms, but not ones you might be expected to know; KPI for example.

It's only jargon Digs. I'm sure you have it in your business too. There is one set there for the programming, another for the industry they are in. There is a bit of management speak, but if you can't understand that, you'd have to be simpler than the management.
