I river down load problem please help
OK So I go to put some new music on my iriver and I sucessfulley down load it full. Great but it wont play any of it. Its all MP4 not MP3

So i go to the i river site and down load the latest Manager soft ware and try to upgrade my Iriver from 1.02 to 2.55.

It seems to save the ziped Hex file to the desk top but when i unzip it the resultant 1.25meg Hex file doesn't seem to work properly.

So I use the latest version of manager to convert CDs into MPs and i down load them on to the player. They show as being on the player but when i switch it on it just says no file

Any ideas?

i River Downloading
Hi Mark,

I Use a free software program I downloaded from the net called SWITCH which I use to convert my CDs to MP3 files then I just drag and drop them into the mp3 player via the iRiver manager software. This works for me. Good luck.

Total video converter will convert almost any audio/video file to almost any audio/video file. For instance you can grab a .flv file from You Tube and convert it to just an audio .mp3 or any video format. The only catch is you have to buy it!

Try Media Coder - MediaCoder - more than a universal audio/video transcoder

Will change most any format to another. And it's free!

LOL I just luurve accurate and descriptive fault reports

Have you found the firmware upgrade utility (probably in the manager) and squirted the Hex file into the player...or not?

As instructed I saved the file to desk top then I unzipped it using the windows unzip feature. This resulted in a Hex file of 1.25meg.

Then I went for the firmware upgrade. It asks for the hex file and when i click on it the file appears empty. I click next and it says searching for files then nothing. I turn everything off and on and i am still on version 1.02

I don't know what I am doing wrong.

What i do know is when its looking for a file its looking for oner with firmware in the title but it cant find one. So I click the serch for Hex files then it can find it.
