I was supposed to be diving with the club on HMS Brazen on Sunday, however Whilst away on holiday I was kindly "volunteered" to supervize the moving of a number of servers over to our european datacenter No body had the courtesy to phone and ask if i was available so my name was put down onto the plans by the project manager. When i came in on Monday and saw the mail I hit the roof and ended up having an arguement with my boss as to the fact i had been put forward to do this without being asked. His reply was "ok, find somebody else to take your shift otherwise we will stick to the plan" I dug my heels in but to no avail. so its onsite at midnight saturday to get ready for the trucks arriving at 04:00am Sunday. Whilst i will be f**king around with some crap servers the club will be quayside at Dover with ropes off at 07:30.

Look on the bright side, when we did that, they told us 3 months later that instead of the promised load of interesting project work we'd be free to do after outsourcing, we were being made redundant.

I didn't really give a sh1t as I was holding out for redundancy to help the move to Plymouth, but it surprised the other two on my team. Fortunately, they both got better jobs too.
