| Bergan 2008? After reading some stuff thinking maybe about a Norway trip next year. Any recommendations of operators? What are the logistics ie how do the ferry times work in with the change over days or dont they! Anyone flown? Does this work better? Cheers |

| Jane the ferry takes 26 hours. Its a long and boring trip but you can sleep away a good bit of it. There is a cinema, several resteraunts bars etc. It is however extremely expensve. Drinks were about £5 and a two course dinner about £30! If you get the friday morning ferry from Newcastle the boat will be waiting for you. Parking is an issue but there is a multi story at the bus station where you can park for about £40 for the week. Good value by norwegian standards. You can fly into Bergen if you wish to dive a single or can get someone to carry your gear by road. The service is dire and they do all sorts of wonderful things like close the resteraunts whilst the movie is running. This means you have a choice of movie or food!! Operators well Elizabeth G from Northern Lights Charters was up there this year. Very nice boat, but this was his first season so limited experience in the area. Gordon Wadsworth on Jane R has been running out of Bergen for years. Gordon is a real character and people either love or hate him. We used Gaelic rose this year. The boat is a little basic and I didnt like stepping over the gunwhale to get in the water. That Said the skipper Bob has donkeys years of experience in the area, the food was great and you will get to see some lovely places. Bob also has a single stage haskell so you can dive Nitrox all week without having to sell a kidney. I believe John Thornton intends to take his boat over for part of next year. The wrecks are simply stunning, this was the best weeks diving I've done. Hope that answers all the questions. Oh BTW I think the ferry cost us £330 (between us )for a car & 4 people sharing a cabin

| Agree with everything ott said. Went with Gordon last year, would definitely go back with him. Having said that I'm going with Bob on the Halton next year. MM
