Perhaps I have been lucky. Two of the instructors (one PADI, one BSAC) who taught me most of my early course work have remained my friends, buddies, mentors and have gently nudged me on to new realms. I have done many courses as I moved into more technical diving but here again I have found that good instructors continue to take an interest in their students long after the courses. I still meet up with my first techy instructor for a chat +/- beer from time to time and I dive regullarly in Cyprus with the guys who introduced me to trimix. One of the great things about diving is the way that we support each other.
