Excellent Service from Hammond Drysuits!

Top marks to Hammond Drysuits for a very speedy repair and replacement of a neckseal on my Protec Explorer.

Beginning of last week I realised that the latex neckseal of my Protec was starting to go and I was off to Egypt this friday. I also needed the outer zip to be replaced as it had shed some teeth and was prone to jamming in the zipped -up position.

Had a quick Q&A session with the rest of the Chimps and they recommended Hammond Drysuits. Gave Chris a ring and explained the circumstance. He said to put it in the post and it would be ready before I needed to depart.

Courier delivered it yesterday and it was perfect. The neckseal looks like it has been trimmed to the size it was before and the outer zip is an improvement on the original Protec design. To sort the outerzip out required Chris to take the original outer material off, including where it attached to the warm collar, cut the zip off, and replace/re-sew everything.

Neck Seal (£30), P&P (£10) and Outer-zip (£40), all in 3 days including courier back to me.

Spot on Chris. I will be using you again.

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

I need a few bits and bobs done to my Brittanic, are they members of YD [for PM] or is it best to ring the shop?

Safe diving,
Steve

Yep, chris is definetely the man for repairs. I've had similar service over the years, including a new latex neck seal put on in three hours when I really needed it. I was warned not to use it until the glue had set properly!!

Always had great service from Chris.

On my Hydrotech Evolution suit over the 7 years I had it they replaced the zip, seals and boots. Each time the suit came back like new in very little time and they were cheaper than a lot of the competition.

Following on from the comments below relating to Hammond Dysuits, I'd like to add my comments and also recommend Hammond Drysuits for a fast, professional service with a first class customer service!

Over the last few months, I've been experiencing a few leaks (minor floods) under the arms and in the seat of the pants of my Oceanic Flexia drysuit - I've had the suit from new and has served me well over the last 5 years!

Rather than fork out for a new drysuit (something that I can't afford at the moment), I gave Chris a call and told him of my situation.

I dropped the suit off to him the following day and true to his word, my suit was ready for collection five days later. As well as replacing all the tape around the seams under the arms and around the seat of the pants (which were peeling away and letting water in), Chris performed a pressure test revealing a few more holes that I hadn't come across in the back of the suit and also the boots.

I also asked Chris about the possibility of having an extension made around the waist of the suit to help me perform shutdowns more easily and not castrate myself in the process with a tight fitting suit! No problem for Chris, I now have a two inch extension inserted into the waist allowing me to move more freely - all seams taped and sealed properly.

He also took the liberty to repair the belt inside the suit and replace the elastic around the waist making it a more comfortable fit!

I have to admit, I was totally gobsmacked with the craftmanship and the level of service! It was brilliant.

Well done Chris! Another satisfied customer!

My other half, Helen, had her neck seal replaced (after I tore it just before a really great dive (for me... She stayed on the boat ) in Swanage) by Hammonds. Fantastic service and really friendly!
