I say virtually as the HSE would likely prosecute using any of the sections 1-7 of the HASAWA 1974, a piece of legislation so good it has not significantly altered since it landed on the staute books over 30 years ago.
:-)
Almost as good as the Shops, Offices and Railway Premises Act 1963. that still determines how many people can be squished into an office!
Goodness... they don't do legislation like they used to

is that still a valid peice of legislation? Thought that had been bounced out in the early part of this century.
scubee ask your union safety dept what the big killers/causes of accidents are are.

I can list the first two

1 falls from height
2 slips trips and falls.

anyway we are all in need of a good molly coddling so lets ban everything and introduce a licence/tax to do it.

is it better to ban it and fine those that dont comply, or allow it and tax the bollox of anyone who wants to be reckless? . . . or does it amount to the same thing?

Enjoy!
Out of interest, BJ, do you ride a motorcycle ? Just wondered because normally when someone mentions something like that in a thread like this, it is what they actually do themselves

There are somethings which have been superceded by newer legislation, but the act is still valid. To name the next in the list, I would need to look it up.

As for our safety department... erm... that would be one of the areas of responsibility held by..... oh... me.

BJ - I can bearly believe you posted this!

Love em or hate em, we all have a choice what to dive, they have proved dangerous for some, but not necassarily dangerous in the hands of a well trained and attentive diver - just like OC.
