1p flights to Malta

Just found some 1p Ryanair flights to Malta in December (admittedly it's 1p there, 1p back and £54 for taxes and baggage but still pretty cheap).
Better still I've been a good boy this year and have got enough browny points saved for a 5 day pass.
Better, better still my iPod Touch arrives on Friday so I'll have something to play with on the journey.
Better, better, better still there's some new wrecks on Gozo to play with.

The weather report from out of the kitchen window this morning was 'high winds, rainy and grey' ho hum.

The wrecks are great though

Do the new wrecks get blown out when them winds blow?

When it's F5-6 the whole island is pretty much blown out. In general you have a far better chance of diving the south coast (where the wrecks are, that's why they were put there ) than the north coast.

Have a look at this linkie for a decent weather forecast.

Judging by today's forecast, I would have stayed in bed .

If the wind is blowing from the West-ish, which it is due to for the rest of the week, it takes out the Blue Hole, Azure Window, Inland Sea, Croc Rock etc which is where most divers want to go - however it's worth getting wrapped up and taking a camera up there to watch the 'stormy sea's' action.

This will pretty much force you to the South side which is far more shelterd, and which is where the wrecks are, but due to the force of the wind (and the fact that it will have done a 360 degree turnaround, the viz will be trashed too (that's to local standards, not hard, UK diver, green tinge standards )

Yes sure ! a number of wrecks including the new ones are accessible from shore.... short swim out !

Absolutley! In fact they are rarely done from a boat.

I tend to surface swim (I have decent transits) and then drop straight down onto them
