I was a berk enough to read the book... learnt a lot - turns out saturation divers keep a wee bottle of summat under their beds in case of emergency!

I have no idea why you're so cynical.

I watched the first part of it, well, until somebody disappeared into the large Christmas bauble, and I was impressed.

They obviously had protocols in place to deal with emergencies and they were very well equipped. I mean, I got a glimpse of one of the divers with a Suunto Eon. I used to have one, so it must be good.

There was one bit I was unsure of - as they were being blown to depth they got cold. I need to brush up on my physics.

There was a moral there too; stay away from oversize festive decorations. That moral might have changed later, but I had to stop watching because I was getting a little scared.

Err, they paid for the privilege. Common or garden product placement.
They also had PADI posters, books and other stuff lying around.

Aha... yes of course, thanks, I hadn't considered the 'product placement' gag. Hollywood producers have teams of lawyers go over scripts to see where products could be inserted and then get on to relevent companies to ask if they want a part of it. Apparently Mr Harrison Ford walks around his film sets turning sauce bottles and cereal boxes away from the camera
