Yes this was a bit of a pain, best to use a single tank rig as a twinset and stage are not required and are a bit of overkill.

As for hard hat dives they are great, but take some time to kit up

My Avatar picture was one at Whitstable Harbour with the Historic Diving Society, i also did a better one in Stromness Harbour this Summer

This was in Stromness Harbour, the water temp was 12 Degrees, note the bubbles from my left arm, there was lots of 12 Degrees water coming in there

superb picture paul and yes the stream of bubbles give away a possible cold arm

You can use the copper diving helmet or the Kirby Morgan surface fed hard hat at Appleton Roebuck.
Alternatively go up to Middlesborough to The welding Institute on one of their open days and have a go with a Kirby Morgan with video link to the surface.

The first time l went to Scapa l did a hard hat dive with Kevin Heath of the historical diving society and to date after five visits to Scapa it's the scariest dive l've done up there.

Like a prat l emptied all the air out of the suit before stepping of the quayside. It was only 5 or 6 mtrs to the sea bed but it felt a lot more as l plummeted down.

Ratty, that's ridiculous and you know it... as long as he's secured to the ceiling of the chamber by a stout line the buoyancy thing isn't an issue

I have been twice now to the York one, first time with YD and 3 weeks ago with our club. I have booked up for another sometime towards the end of this year, probably Sept/October and will have around 12 spaces to fill with YD'ers. As soon as I get a date I will put a list up.
