Beaver Nova torch aka "Tomy my first dive torch" (see other posts)
Beaver "heavy duty" DSMB - frayed badly with very little use; also used to unravel itself and trail behind me....

Is anyone noticing a pattern here???
Lets be honest, anything made by Beaver fits the bill........

Wetsuit - Patches on the knees started coming off before the first dive
Weight Harness - D rings went rusty
Plastic DIN plugs - no holes to vent the air if the cylinder was turned on accidentally
etc etc

Custom divers 120m ratchet reel. The black durel one. It jamed all the time and the ratchets broke.

Piece of crap which I quickly swaped for an old Sunnto Vyper.

Bloody reels! I have a box full

A few years ago, i would have agreed with Leigh about the MGE. I wasn't that keen on mine.I bought a little buddy pocket reel in the 'advice' of someone else. I think it is somewhere near the Mulberry Harbour, still attached to a DSMB.

Then I bought at Scubapro little grey and black one. It worked fine until one day it jammed. Than it always jammed, and the mechanism became stiff.

Then I bought another MGE. This time, the one with the multi function thingy. Well, it used to take a bit of concentrating on so that I knew which function it was going to to, but then i discovered that it was no use trying to concentrate on the bloomin reel when i had a buddy who was supposed to be doing a no mask ascent. So on advice, i went back to my original MGE reel. and we formed a very good relationship. It never jammed, it was lovely.

Then I discovered the Kent Tooling Ratchet reel.

But my worst purchase has to be the cressi Big Eyes. About the most uncomfortabe mask that I have ever worn and it supposedly fits me.

Twin 10s... I could go on, but might bore myself to death if I talk about it anymore... anyway, untrimmable.

Custom Divers reel I bought it from the dive show a few years ago. The firsrt time I used it, I dropped it from a height of only 3 feet and the side acrylic ploate shattered. I phoned CD's who sent me another after a bit of a row. The 'new' one arrived which was not new but a battered piece that didnt fit !

A Snorkel need I explain !!!, ok, Try breathing of one at 10 metres

a lidl 'dive torch' you unscrew it to turn it on so the deeper you go the less sound the seal. I flooded mine on its forst dive without even using it properly.

I think thats the only bad bit of kit I have

Seac Sub drysuit. When i looked back, i dont think i had a dry dive in around 5 years. The zip went in under 50 dives, the boots went, the seals went, the seams went, all the valves had to be replaced (by Seac) and they still leaked. When i complained they said i had used it too much (!).

ND weight harness - it was a first generation one, but it fell to bits within one season.

Halcyon 40lb wing. - I have seen better quality material used on a body bag and the inflator sticks on even though its not one of the faulty ones.

Dacor vyper regs - awful breathe, impossible to tune in correctly. Appalling quality of plastic for the reg itself.

Ankle weights - the shot filled ones where the strap doesnt go all the way to the end of the baggy bit so it hangs down and rubs on the ground when you walk, eventually wearing through the material and you leave a nice trail of lead shot in your wake.

Beaver stainless bits - they rust. Lots. In fact, if you had fish and chips on the way home from the dive shop and had salt on them the beaver stuff would probably rust simply from that.
