If there wasn't any nitrogen, then we would have too much methane, which would pong, or too much helium, and we would float, or, worse, to much oxygen and we would be convulsing all the time.

There's so much of it because its good for nothing so it doesnt get used up, bit like traffic wardens, none there when you need them, far too many when you dont.

I heard on the news yesterday that Helium is now running out and last year Helium prices doubled so we need to find some more, Can't we invent something that converts Nitrogen to helium?

agreed, it is soooooo much fun using the gas and air. she had to prise it from me when she needed it.
