I found it funny that Claire couldn't wait to tell anyone who would listen that they were first on the wreck, when she got back

i think you should find your own marks and explore them rather than take other peoples ideas

just my opinion

It was a shame not to do the IP. I thought the fog would have burnt off by lunchtime but so it goes. That said I had some great dives (and another great day today). So it goes.

My Dive Hero is Dave Thompson (who invented the Inspiration and has dived the Brittanic etc etc) because he still enjoys diving Swanage pier.

There are a fair few around who would have a right laugh at all this over such an easy to find new wreck, your Starfish Enterprise and Delta crews, the Orkney wreck finders, G Wizz, Dave Batchelor, 501 Diver to name a very limited few

l really honestly am not bothered about who was first on the wreck. It's the skipper that l have an issue with.

Chasey chartered the boat to dive the Ice Prince. Graham acepted the charter. Then Chasey rings to get the details and is told we cannot dive the IP and it's insinuated that because it's not the skippers fault the charter has to go ahead.
Chasey points out that Tango was happy to go there and Graham says he'll look into it. Why didn't he look into it when Chasey made the original booking?
l think it's because 'like a lot of Weymouth Skippere' they just think the boats chartered we'll just dive another wreck or Portland Harbour.

l used to dive out of Weymouth a lot but stopped about 8 years ago because l was fed up with getting down there and being told we couldn't dive X wreck which we'd planned but we could dive the harbour. They seem to have the idea that if the boat is able to go out and dive anything, even if it's not what the client wants they get paid. they get paid.

l think l'll move my building business down the Weymouth. Just imagaine someone contracting me to build a conservatory and l build a porch instaed and still insist on payment because l've still put the work in.

Anyhow, surely someone must have dived it before last weekend?

And if it is such a big cherry why didn't the skipper save it for the folk that had chartered the boat to do it?

NB. l don't think it is a big cherry to dive it first, we'll just have to read others reports to see if they think the same.

For the time and effort spent setting the dive up i have a lot of sympathy with Chasey and crew, always a bummer when it don't happen even more so when you think its doable.

I have to laugh at the posts as linked to by Stew, you would think its a major find not a well publicized wreck that sunk a few months ago, never mind i imagine they are wetting themselves on Backslappers.com

Now this though is something to get chuffed about, and a bit more like Exploring:- HMS Olympus found off Malta in 115m

Dunno what you are on about i'm just really following up others points and PM's, which i tend to agree with.

Like the Dude i would be surprised if it had not been dived anyway and don't see it as any kind of big deal. Just more DIR b*ll*cks and typical backslapers.com stuff.

Anyway i don't have Grandchildren.

Edit: But i have had a beer now

Hmm. This is a pretty insulting post, from a mod to a member. Not good form.
