Wasn't it said of a day in November?

and December?

If you live in East Lancashire then every day you spend in the area is the most depressing day of the year.

I would consider the recent days to have been the most depressing, particularly for anyone living in Gloucester who are suffering from yet more flooding, due to the crap weather. One poor family on the telly this morning had been flooded out 4 times in as many months.

Now that would seriously p*ss me off.

So, no matter how bad things may seem with you, there's always some poor soul worse off.

worse off

Take my dog for example.
He's lost one of his front paws from being run over, had an ear bitten off in a fight, lost an eye to a air rifle pellet, got mainge, lost several teeth when he jumped off a wall, lost his tail when a door slammed on it......answers to the name of "Lucky".

Yes, there is always someone worse off than you, and today it's me. When I tried to hang myself this morning the ****ing rope broke !!!

How depressing is that !!!

Isn't it something to do with fact that it's the last Monday before a lot of people's pay day and because most get paid early in December because of Christmas they've got no money left, still no sign of pay day AND it's a Monday???

Gram43, it'd pee me off too. I watched a weather programme at 3.00 this morning (don't ask - temporary insomnia!!) and they showed you Boscastle. We get flooding round here because of the Thames and the Loddon, but no where near as much as others have had. East Reading gets off fairly lightly considering. Poor Maidenhead, Bray and other such places get it tough. Though the road that would take me to Scubee's village has been shut for a few weeks now and still people try and drive down there?!?!

I think it's because if you are monthly paid but your company pays you earlier in december it's now a month since you were paid but there is still lots of january left until next payday , 10 days till payday and I'm broke.
Also the hot tub is broken and it' going to be £500 to repair it.
And the garage is flooded Again, but not as flooded as Venus's

Is it still shut? it is the qucikest road from my house to the M4, and just about anywhere, so I use it quite a lot. I haven't bothered trying for ages because for some bizzarre reason they put the road closed sign about 300 yards up it, so you don't actually know it is shut until too late.

Oh... but the sign is next to the golf club. That's alright then.... mustn't prevent people from playing

I know a couple of people with their birthday today. Add on to H-D's list the though of being yet another year older..........

That's one thing I really like here - pretty well everyone gets paid fortnightly - a good compromise between the pros & cons of weekly v monthly pays. You get a big enough lump sum to cover urgent big bills but the survival time required to next pay day is much more manageable.

Another advantage of this is that you can pay your mortgage fortnightly and get the bank to recalculate interest owed on a fortnightly basis too, which can knock a year or two off the life of the the loan - or so I'm told.
