Congratulations Mr Kelland.

Well done Adrian for passing your diver coxwain exam this morning. By the way, the Torquay harbour master says the damage to the harbour wall is pretty minimal and my orthopoedic surgeon is confident that despite the pain, I have no actual fractures in my spine. The boatyard say they can sort the jammed steering out pretty easily too...

Bl00dy hell - with all those cock ups, it must be pretty easy to pass. Maybe I ought to ahve a go.

Well Done, Adrian

Ok I may have slightly exagerated. All the candidates did really well so well done to Chris, Dave and Paul too. Odin and I enjoyed beasting you all and are just relieved that the golden rivet method of assessment wasn't required...

Adrian, and the other three candidates did very well. Examiner:Candidate ratio was 1:2, and there is no where to hide on the RIB.
The candidates, and examiners had put a lot of work into prepping for this event.

The jammed steeing was on one of the RIBs. We left that behind and all went in one boat. 4 candidates, two examiners
The syllabus was strictly adhered to, and all parts of the assessment were completed to a high standard.... apart from one.... very thirsty work completing all this paperwork... now a beer or 4 may help...

I was examining a Diver Cox'n award years ago in Poole. One candidate failed before he got on the boat...which he didn't!

He was in the p.m. group, and watching him drink 3 bottles of Budweiser at lunch was enough to fail him.. I mean "Budweiser"... not even real beer!
Paul

Thanks Nick, sorry about that little slip of the throttle.

Also thanks to Odin for his part too. A very pleasant day out, almost a shame the weather was so good. I think it was a good plan not to take kit though.

Adrian
