| Rib stolen from Blue Water Marina, Portland The Boat has been recovered! It was found abandonded on the M5 on 31st Jan 08 The Reading based CPA club Tornado rib was stolen on the weekend from its compound in Portland. The value of this RIB is approximately £20,000. Tornado rib was stolen on January 26th 2008. Hull Number: GB TBIB P6970000 115HP Yamaha outboard F115AET/2000 - Serial number 68 / V / 701469 Thieves attempted to break the lock on the marina gate, but failed. They then cut down the security fence, cut off the wheel clamp on the trailer and loaded the Tornado and its trailer onto a truck and made off with it. More information along with the full description of the boat and serial numbers is on our club website at: http://www.cpanet.co.uk/stolen-tornado-rib.html Here is the police report: --- Somewhere between 1400hrs on the 26th and 0830hrs on the 27th an Orange 5.5 tornado RIB on an galvanised trailer was stolen from Blue Water Horizon's yard at Ferry bridge in Weymouth. The manager there stated that there were two Estonian gentlemen that came in to collect an outboard that had been sold to someone in Germany. The had a small flatbed lorry and trailer and stated to the manager that they were going on to Exeter to collect a car before going home, possibly via London, indicating that they may have been leaving via Dover. They asked the manager how much the RIB was and he told them that it wasn't for sale as it was a customers boat. He returned this morning to find that the fencing had been cut and the boat had been stolen. If anyone has any information regarding this, or spots the rib please contact the police, the club (via the website) or myself via this site. We will buy large amounts of beer to anyone helping to recover this boat!! Last edited by IPA101 : 04-02-08 at 07:38 PM. |
