I can't remember the history exactly but Ethelred was local to you, killed on the steps of Corfe Castle if I remember correctly, I think he was done in at the behest of his cousin's mother who wanted her son to succeed to the crown. So you would have both local and royal connections. An alternative suggestion might be Dory V
