Try Self catering holiday villas, apartments, cottages, for rental worldwide I have never been disappointed when I have booked through them and you can find some real bargains. Also a bonus, you usually get English owners so communication is very easy.

The area between Las Americas and Christianos is my favorite spot.

Not too noisy but the night life is just up the road. I've stayed in the Parqe Santiago 3 apparts which were great for kids. The Hotel Vulcano which is very nice but a bit oldy farty (or it was when we went a few years ago in October).

The Aparthotel Columbus, a bit in the middle of the noisy are, was hell on Earth. So don't go there even if they pay you.

I've dived with Diving Tenerife SCUBA Diving Tenerife. Aqua-marina PADI 5 Star Centre who are under the Compostela Beach apartments. I found them to be very good and had some great diving.
Never stayed in the apartments but they're right by the best beach in Tenerife (in my opinion) They dive from Ribs off the beach.

I think they can arrange accomodation for you.

Paul

Well well well...

I can definately recomend Baz at Soldivers... (Diving Tenerife - Scuba Diving in Tenerife plus FREE Accommodation. PADI Scuba Diving courses, Snorkelling, cheap accommodation, online booking, Diving in Tenerife at its best, Soldivers, Scuba Diving Tenerife,Sol Divers Tenerife - PADI Scuba Diver T) even though he doesnt have his own boat. Its quiet enough and only 10mins from the big smoke.

but on here is the owner and runner of an establishment i have heard nothgin but priase for.... dive24
(Tenerife Diving - Diving Tenerife, Scuba Diving, PADI, BSAC, TDI, Canary Islands Dive Center PADI BSAC TDI)

and hes only around teh corner from baz!

Ill definately recoment tenerife!!!

Costa Adeje and Playa de Fanaby are both OK and far enough away from the 18-30 crowd to be enjoyable and the beaches there are not as packed either.

Personally I tend to go there as a group with golfers so normally end up in a nice villa on one of the golf courses, but you will need a car to get back to Los Christianos/Las Americas. Golf Del Sur is the nicer complex and has lots of nice restaurants, but Amarilla is definitely cheaper.
