Just to keep this up-to-date in case anyone is interested or searching in the future. I have received the following email from Al at Delta P;

- 'Give the units 24 hours and see if the missed stops stay away, with some version 5.03aC units there can sometimes be a missed stop issue and a ghost dive in the logbook, an upgrade to 2007v normally cures this.'

i bought a new colour screen top of range vr£ late last year and mine went bonkers! showing 500mtr dives and resetting underwater,

delta p took it back and replaced the guts now its perfect,

turnaround was 3 weeks but worth getting it sorted,

i take it your peeling of back halk of cell wrapper for contact issue problem?

Just to update. Al pulled out all the stops to fix and return our VR3's within a day -( maybe because he is a friend of our tech/ccr instructor )

Anywho - latest software 2007 sorted the prob and I'm now playing with the new features. Struggling to understand why you would want a TTS (Total Time to Surface) screen saver in surface mode though - I must be being thick !!

Thats me! Screen went all weird. Changed back to AA 1.5v all ok. I now change my Batteries before every weekend diving. No problems..

oh crap ... that got to be the kiss of death!

Good to know you have fixed your problem.

No, Al is an all round good guy, from my limited dealings with him anyway.

Software upgrade eh, sounds familiar

hmmm,
'we know there is an issue with our software, send your computer back to us with a nice fat cheque and we'll fix it for you'

seriously, is the new software worth getting?

(i had the missed stops on my VR£ after changing the battery and it went away on its own after a days diving (i used a vyper as my main computer that day)

No fat cheques involved

We persevered with our VR3's for a few days diving but the missed stops never buggered off !

I have now sussed that the TTS in surface mode screen saver (if selected) is there to remind you that that is what it will be doing underwater - doh! You could have Average depth or PO2 if you have a link for CCR instead. I suppose it is a usueful reminder pre-dive.

There is a slightly odd anomally I have encountered though whilst playing with the new software. I like having my final stop depth at 6m but when you bail out or go back on the loop the final stop resets to 4.5m. Hardly a drama but worth knowing I guess. Of course you can change this in DVO mode but really you shouldn't have to IMO.

Other than that PO2 setpoint switching is straightforward enough and a nice feature as well as the big fu@k off TTS screensaver! Bailout via Profiled gases is pretty intuative too. On the whole a nice little upgrade and I'm very grateful to Al @ Delta P for sorting it all out so quickly. Top bloke.

My VR£ always has ' missed stops' on screen, but then again I bend it on every dive
