I suppose I might have losing blood supply to the muscles and couldn't keep my head up? At least I wasn't sneaking looks sideways and I did feel very cheerful and happy afterwards ......... if a little light headed!

wraysbury staff can usually get somebody to buddy up with you. I think thats how Mark C on here joined here , he buddied up with a few of us on a wednesday night and we talked him into joining.

Maybe your buddy had a very valid reason for not diving. Ah well just keep looking forward to the coming weekend in portland

There are, of course, one or two who are genuine nice blokes. I would have done what you did and gone home. However, i doubt i would ahve done the housework - I'm not very good at it.

I regularly turn up buddyless - find some nice people that way (BSAC or PADI either way you end up wet). Also you could dive as a triple and join a buddy pair (Thanks Steve and Gareth).
Also dont be put off by some of the more techie divers - some of them will only be too pleased to dive with you Esp in Wraysbury.

Also the dive is not done till you have finished the pint/coffee after with them

She certainly sounds bold and brave to me but that doesn't mean she dare talk to strangers and while she may be confident after a few drinks on a dance floor, diving isn't quite the same. However ............. Wraysbury do supply "dance platforms" and sometime Richard brings out the booze
