| Summerised: New Divers on decilne Sales on decline as we all got the stuff we want (ish) Forums discussing techi dives with mixed gases/rebreathers - expensive or expensive photo/video rigs Diving becoming for the rich More people holiday dive than UK dive - rather spend on other stuff Emaressment for getting exicited over a 15M dive Overcompicating things Need for not making people who learn abroad feel scared off or stupid without the numbers ther will be fewer divers, therefoer fewer places to get equipment and air. Essentaially dont drone on about how expensive the best things are, big up some of the cheeper sides to the sport and we may get more holidays divers to dive UK (and possibly even train in the uk!!) |

| Where did he get the material for his article? off here? Most of that is logical conclusions. It is a 'luxury hobby' that we all want to do spending as little money as possible. Flying abroad is cheap and i would have said easy, except we now have T5. It costs little more to go to Tenerife for a weekend than it does to go to portland for a weekend. And don't say anything is cheap - it devalues the product (p.s. I haven't read the article - this is based on Marks summary and half a bottle of red)

| I think that's a total outrage! Someone obviously penned that and put bantin's name against it..... There wasn't a sing;e reference to one of his rich friends so it couldn't have been him!!

| I don't remember the article. But I think that the overwhelming majority of divers are not techie, and don't spend an awful lot of time on the internet. YD represents the keenest 2 or 3% of divers. It's not representative of diving as a whole. Janos
