Anyone in Dubai?
I'm in Dubai for a couple of months (and hopefully longer term after that).

What's the diving like and does anyone have any club/centre recommendations?

The gray fixing screws on the EDO 04 head look like cheap stuff bought at the local gardening store.
Well, it is cheap stuff and it comes almost from the local gardening store, but it works fine and it's very solid. We tried to destroy one by hitting it with a hammer... we succeeded but we really had to hit it hard - http://www.stde.ch/en/faq.php

I dived there a couple of years ago and didn't really enjoy it. The sea is too warm for one thing. All that island building means that there's not much sea life. I can recommend the dive outfit located at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel though. Good guys with reasonable quality kit for hire. They arrange trips up the coast to Oman though which is supposed to be good.

As all have said above - even quoting myself in Wilbo's link! - there is also Dubai Desert Sports Club and Abu Dhabi SAC.

It really is not far to very good diving.....just a drive across the Pininsular.

Gavin, I am in Dubai for a 4-5 days in June and was thinking of sneaking in a couple of dives. Any chance you could post a quick trip report on the diving & dive school for general info??
