| A poem about a stroke. Please do not take this too seriously. I used to think that BSAC was the best thing since sliced bread It must have been cos that’s what all BSAC people said I used to scoff at PADI in their pink suits, masks and fins I ridiculed their snorkels an the mesh around their tins Then I joined Yorkshire Divers for the fun and for the Craic And realised the thing to be was technical and black Oooo, fancy diving twinsets, I thought I’ll have to change I look so odd in my orange suit and my little tank’s so strange But soon I changed, I sold my soul, to the pink side just to work I had to wear a snorkel and look even more a berk But soon I was converted, to pink fins, skills and CESAs All blond and suntanned in the Med, with lots of tasty geezers Then back home, back to YD, back to good old British seas Disgusting vis, and rocky boats and hands that tend to freeze I really should advance myself, dive deep and get some stages Black drysuit, mask, white tins, black fins and nice knots on all my gauges But no! I won’t. I’m just a girl who likes the pretty fishes I’ll keep it simple, do it wrong then come home and do the dishes. Stroke-test
