| Don't be fooled by what you read on here, all of the diving with my club is single cylinder, and I should think percentage wise there are vastly more single cylinder dives.Swanage pier hire cylinders and kit, if and when I get down to see ShinyD and the F's and all the other reprobates that inhabit that area I'm sure I could give you a lift and the loan of a 12lt.

| Dive out of swanage, plenty of great single tank dives from there if you want to find your way to basingstoke station one night I'll take you the rest of the way and show you around. I'm sure you can hire cylinders from Pete williams if not you can borrow my 15.

| I know Dive St Ives hired single 12's - I think they may have closed down now?? A lot do - but you need to check Which sites can you get to easily by train etc, as it all depends on where you are hoping to dive as to wether there are Dive Centres close by that will hire you a tank. I have a few 12L tanks, so some time could buddy up with you for a bimble in the sea Last edited by Mark C : 04-04-08 at 08:02 PM. |

| Most of our club divimg is on single 12s, some on single 15s and sometimes we take a pony! Andark (Fareham) will hire cylinders, as will Sound Diving (plymouth) and I think Looe may do as well.My club also has a few that can be borrowed by members. I seem to remember most shops down this end of the world that runs courses will hire a cylinder if you are out on their boat. Andy

Most of our days will be speced for single tank divers although when we can make a two dive day it is considered fair to put in one that is out of reach to some of the club. On the South Coast there are lots of inshore wrecks and the piles of rocks we call reefs where the wildlife lurks. The thing is that shallow wrecks are normally more broken so we like the 20+ meter ones as they are just more ship-shaped but my big research project is at just 21 meters in the scour. |

| In my club of about 70 members there are I think six of us who do most of our diving using rebreathers or twin sets. The rest of the members use single cylinders a few sometimes use ponies. Most of the branch sea diving is between 20 and 30 meters. As a branch we have some cylinders that members can borrow or most member are happy to loan a cylider if they are not diving, I can not think of a case where the lack of a cylinder stopped somebody diving .
