| One of my favourite beasties! and what a cute one - did he go on following you? |

(Yes, he did actually, for quite a while.) It's about the only time, apart from when we dive with seals that I feel like I'm sharing the water with something that's got half a brain. (You should see the bloke I dive with)

| Great photos Richard Finding cuttlefish is one of my favourite activities at Chesil. There's something about them that I find fascinating. Maybe as you say it's down to the intelligence that they have. I was really pleased to find a big one on one of the dives in the Red Sea, and he stayed still and allowed us to approach quite close - never moving. I'd love to find some octopus too, but no luck yet.

OK. I won't show you this then. ![]() To give an idea of his/her size, the legs of the crayfish cowering in the background would span 150~200mm. This is a better sized crayfish ![]() You'd rarely see more than a couple of cray per dive in most places but this was in a Marine Reserve (no take) and they were jostling for space under every rock - the fish life was incredible - gives you an idea of what it must have been like 40 odd years ago and also what some places in the UK could be like if they get their Marine reserve system going over there. The fish life there is proloific too, it would be one of my favourite spots in Tassie.
