| Chesil Cove. Portland. No tide to speak of and calm when the wind is zero or blowing from the East or North.

| Chesil is a bit of a bind in a twinset on your own. The other problem with going completely on your own is who will zip your suit (if you don't have a front loader)?

| Burton Bradstock - very similar to Chesil, but a gentle sandy slope to get in and out instead of the horrendous pebbles, and you park virtually on the beach. Brixham breakwater - park next to the beach Babbacombe - as above Ladram bay - as above Newtons Cove, Weymouth, although it might be a bit shallow

| I've had solo bimbles at Babbacombe and Brixham. Just make sure you don't stray too far and be aware of the tides.
