When I descunged my last new mask, a Scubapro FWTIW, I used the abrasive type of toothpaste on my finger. My index finger, or middle finger for that matter is not of sausage proportions and manages to get into as much of the crevices as to make sight lines a non event, and I'm a photog so those are pretty important to me. Did that when I bought that mask and haven't done it since nor needed to. That was about 12 years ago and since then the mask has had two new dioptres glued into it - the eyes ain't what they used to be. So what is it about your water to make you need a major scrub out every so often?

| Remember to to put toothpaste on the inside of your mask, not your eyeballs. If you scrub your eyeballs with minty fresh aquapaste, they might smart a bit. Especially if you use an electric toothbrush.

| Potatoes work becuase of the starch in them which is what stops the mask fogging up. It is also a reason why children often have difficulties in that no matter how oftern they spit, their masks tend to fog up quickly - they have less starch in their saliva. Or so i was told.
