Travel insurance

Hi All,

Can anybody advise me on decent travel insurance for a long trip to OZ? Am going over for eight weeks and want to get a fair bit of diving in, but can only find a few policies that will cover that long away and they limit diving to 14 days max. Is DAN anygood?

Cheers

For an 8 week trip you would probably be best to get an annual policy. Lots of companies do these but often put strict limits on the type / amount of diving that you can do. One that I saw limited you to 10m !

I have DAN annual but so far have never had to claim. As far as I'm aware with DAN there is no limit to the amount of diving so long as you dive within your qulaification

FWIW I did see a brit guy in Philippines with a coral cut / infection and the dive shop said that DAN didn't argue, paid all hospital and repatriation costs.

you could try snowcard insurance or buddy is quite good too

Ski and Snowboard insurance for winter holidays

Buddy Diving Insurance - Travel Insurance for Scuba Divers

snowcard gives you really good deals and will insure you to your qualification level!

I'm with Westfield...

Scuba Diving Travel Insurance | Diver Equipment Insurance | Westfield Sub Aqua Marine

but a quick sqiuz through their T's & C's and standard annual only includes 30 days any in one trip - might be worth keeping an eye open for this as I'm sure many will be the same (in other words, you can probably get the insurance, but it'll cost you more! )

Still worth a call to them though, always been very helpful.

Enjoy your trip!

Pete

Yeah Divemaster is exactly the same as long as you stay within your qualification you are covered, but you are also covered outside your qualification as long as you are with an instructor on a recognised course.
